Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. It was subsequently determined that COVID-19 is caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2, from the family Coronaviridae. As of 17th May 2021, over 160 million people are infected with the virus and more than three million deaths worldwide.
